Heavy rain is occurring.

Locations: eastern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton.

Additional rainfall: 10 to 30 mm.

Time span: until noon.

Remarks: Heavy bands of rain and possible thundershowers with occur early this morning with possible rainfall rates in excess of 15 mm per hour.  Some of these bands could persist over some areas, leading to locally higher amounts.

Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant impacts are expected due to rainfall amounts.
