At 4:37 p.m. CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts, loonie to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain. Thunderstorm Location: Old Wives Lake to the International Border Motion: Moving east at 50 km/h Hazards: Wind: damaging (90 - 110 km/h) Hail: loonie to ping pong ball size (2.5 to 4.5 cm) Rain: heavy (15 - 50 mm) Locations in the Path: Old Wives Lake Congress Assiniboia Fife Lake Ormiston Briercrest Coronach Drinkwater Avonlea Big Beaver ### Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Hazards: Wind gusts of 90 km/h. Up to golf ball sized hail. Locally heavy rainfall. Timing: This afternoon and this evening. Additional Information: Scattered thunderstorms and severe thunderstorms will develop this afternoon as a trough of low pressure continues to linger over much of southern and central Saskatchewan. ### Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Large hail can cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
