Severe Thunderstorm Warning

At 8:01 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, up to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain. This severe thunderstorm is located near Hangingstone Lake, moving southeast at 80 km/h. Hazard: Ping pong size hail and 90 km/h wind gusts. Locations impacted include: Temagami River Provincial Park, Marten River Provincial Park, Kenny Forest Provincial Park, Wawiashkashi Lake, Brightwater Lake, David Lake, Pat Lake, South Arm, Thistle Lake, Surveyor Lake, Cross Lake, Red Cedar Lake, Hangingstone Lake, Norris Lake, Mann Lake, Opechee Lake, Opechee Boys Lake, Twinsister Lake, Olive Lake and Jumping Cariboo Lake. A second severe thunderstorm is located 5 kilometres southwest of Dokis, moving east at 80 km/h. Hazard: 90 km/h wind gusts and nickel size hail. Locations impacted include: Restoule Provincial Park and Restoule. ### Large hail may cause significant damage and injury.

Heat Warning
Issued: 6:00 PM Jun. 21, 2025 – Environment and Climate Change Canada
Dangerous heat and humidity beginning Sunday afternoon. The first significant heat event of the season with dangerously hot conditions will begin Sunday afternoon and is expected to end Monday night. What: Daytime highs of 30 to 32 degrees Celsius. Humidex values near 40. Overnight lows of 18 to 21 degrees Celsius, providing little relief from the heat. When: Sunday afternoon to Monday night. Additional information: The extreme heat and humidity may continue into Tuesday. A cold front is expected to push through the region Monday night but there is some uncertainty with how far south this front will get.
