Yellow Warning - Winter Storm
Issued: 12:00 PM Dec. 15, 2025 – Environment and Climate Change Canada
Hazardous winter conditions are expected. Locations: Victoria, Inverness, Antigonish, and Pictou Counties. Additional snowfall: 5 to 10 cm, except up to 30 in northern Cape Breton. Anticipated snowfall totals: 25 to 40 cm. Maximum wind gusts: northwesterly 80 to 90 km/h. Remarks: Snow, heavy at times will continue today over northeastern portions of mainland Nova Scotia and into tonight in western Cape Breton. Winds will increase as they shift to northwesterly this morning. These winds will combine with freshly fallen snow and falling temperatures to reduce visibility in blowing snow. ### Roads and walkways may be very difficult to navigate. Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Prolonged utility outages are possible. Winter Storm Warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather (such as snow, freezing rain, wind and rain) are expected or occurring.
