Severe Thunderstorm Watch
Issued: 7:27 PM Jul. 9, 2025 – Environment and Climate Change Canada
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

Hazards:
Heavy rainfall with rainfall rates between 30 and 50 mm per hour
Wind gusts up to 90 km/h
Hail up to 2 cm in diameter
There is also the risk of a tornado.

When:
This afternoon into this evening.

Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible.

Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility.

Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles.

Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
