A long duration heat event continues. For some areas, this is the first heat event of the season.

What:
Maximum temperatures of 31 to 35 degrees Celsius, and potentially up to 37 degrees Celsius for some areas.
Minimum temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees Celsius.

When:
Continuing through Friday, and possibly into the weekend.

Additional Information:
The hottest days are expected today through Thursday, with maximum temperatures of 35 to 37 degrees Celsius expected. Minimum temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees Celsius will provide little relief from the heat.

Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high-risk category.

Conditions are favourable for the development of squalls with wind gusts up to 55 knots, frequent lightning, hail and poor to very poor visibility in thunderstorms heavy at times.

Thunderstorms over Michigan are expected to track over the area starting early this afternoon. The potential for thunderstorms will remain possible throughout the afternoon and evening.
