A multi-day episode of very cold wind chills continues.

What: Wind chill values ranging from minus 50 to minus 55.

When: Now to Wednesday midday.

Where: Dawson, Mayo, Faro - Ross River, Pelly - Carmacks, and Beaver Creek.
 
Remarks: An Arctic ridge of high pressure is bringing very cold conditions to central Yukon. Light winds combined with frigid temperatures will produce  extreme windchill values near minus 50 to minus 55.

Some moderation of temperatures is expected on Wednesday.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.

Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.

Cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
