Issued: 5:55 PM Oct. 25, 2025 – Environment and Climate Change Canada
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

What: Strong southeasterly and southwesterly winds 70 km/h gusting to 90 over exposed coastal sections.

When: Today for strong southeasterly winds. Near midnight to early Sunday morning for strong southwesterly winds. 

Where: Exposed coastal sections Victoria for strong southeasterly winds. Exposed coastal sections mainly in the vicinity of Juan de Fuca and southern Strait of Georgia for strong southwesterly winds.

Remarks:
A pacific low pressure system will move across the BC south coast today and tonight. Ahead of the low, strong southeasterly winds of 70 km/h gusting to 90 will develop over coastal sections in Victoria. 

In low's wake, gusty southwesterly winds 70 km/h gusting to 90 will also develop over exposed coastal areas of the inner south coast near midnight then ease early Sunday morning.

High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches.
