Lake effect snow squalls off Lake Huron expected today. What: Reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow. Local snowfall amounts of 5 to 15 cm. When: Late this morning through the afternoon. Weakening this evening. Additional information: Winds are expected to shift from west to northwest through the day. As a result, snow squalls are not expected to remain over any given location for a long period of time. Reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow will be the primary hazard as opposed to snowfall accumulations. ### Travel will likely be hazardous. Road closures are possible. Gusty winds and icy conditions today. What: Rapidly falling temperatures resulting in surfaces becoming icy and slippery. Westerly winds gusting 60 to 80 km/h. When: Strong winds developing this morning and continuing into tonight. Icy conditions this morning. Additional information: A strong cold front will move through the area this morning. Winds will strengthen and temperatures will rapidly fall below the freezing mark in behind the front. Travel may become difficult at times.
