Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop along the Foothills and move to the southeast this evening. These thunderstorms may be capable of producing a tornado in addition to large hail, heavy rain and strong wind gusts. ### This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce tornadoes. Rainfall Warning

Heavy rainfall event beginning tonight. Thunderstorms will develop this evening in southern Alberta. These thunderstorms will then combine to form an area of rain that will persist through Monday. Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 80 mm is expected. ### Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
