An extended period of hot and humid weather is expected. Time span: today through Thursday for Digby, Annapolis, and Kings counties; tomorrow through Thursday for the remainder of mainland Nova Scotia. Maximum daytime temperatures: 29 to 33 degrees Celsius (Humidex 36 to 38), except cooler along parts of the immediate coast. Minimum overnight temperatures: 16 to 20 degrees Celsius. Locations: mainland Nova Scotia Remarks: A hot and humid airmass will settle over the region for the coming week. Little relief is expected at night with elevated overnight temperatures. The hottest day being forecast is Wednesday where daytime highs could reach 33 degrees. This alert will likely be expanded to Cape Breton as the event progresses. ### Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
