Significant freezing rain continues early this morning. What: Freezing rain leading to icy surfaces. Ice accretion or build-up of 5 to 15 mm on some surfaces. When: Ending early Monday morning. Additional information: Freezing rain will continue early this morning. Freezing rain has changed over to rain near Lake Ontario and remaining areas are expected to change to rain or end this morning. Any additional ice build-up is expected to be fairly minimal. ### Roads and walkways may become icy and slippery. Prolonged utility outages are possible. Strong winds expected on Monday. What: Strong southwesterly and westerly wind gusts of 80 to 90 km/h, except up to 100 km/h near Lake Ontario. When: Beginning Monday morning and easing Monday evening. Additional information. Strong southwesterly winds are expected to develop Monday morning with the passage of a strong cold front. The winds will become westerly through the afternoon with gusts of 80 km/h still possible. The winds will ease through Monday evening. The strongest wind gusts are expected near Lake Ontario Monday afternoon. ### Local utility outages are possible. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible.
