Locations: mainland Nova Scotia.

Time span: beginning this afternoon and persisting into Friday, possibly into the weekend for some counties.

Maximum temperatures: 30 to 33 degrees Celsius (Humidex 36 to 38).
Minimum temperatures: near 18 degrees Celsius.

Remarks: A hot and humid air mass is expected to move into the region today, bringing a period of persistently high daytime temperatures and elevated Humidex values. Nighttime lows are also forecast to stay warm, providing little to no relief. Conditions should improve for some areas over the weekend, however some counties may see warning level temperatures and/or Humidex persist.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
