Significant rainfall expected. Locations: most of northern and central Nova Scotia including the Valley. Total rainfall: 20 to 40 mm, with local amounts potentially reaching 50 mm. Time span: today and tonight, ending Tuesday morning. Similar events in the past have led to: - hazardous driving conditions from water ponding and pooling on roadways. Remarks: Rainfall intensity and amounts could vary considerably over short distances, even within the same county. Given the nature of this system there remains some uncertainty at this time where the heaviest rainfall will occur. Rainfall warnings are in effect for Pictou and Guysborough counties and these may be extended as this system evolves. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
