Special Weather Statement
Issued: 8:26 AM Apr. 4, 2026 – Environment and Climate Change Canada
Wintry weather is expected this weekend. Locations: Connaigre, and Burgeo - Ramea. Additional snowfall (this morning): 5 to 10 cm, with locally higher amounts possible. Total snowfall (Sunday night): 5 to 10 cm. Rainfall (later Sunday night): 10 to 20 mm. Remarks: Snowfall associated with a weather system passing south of Newfoundland will taper off later this morning or near noon. A second weather system will affect the region Easter Sunday night, and will bring snow followed by a period of ice pellets and freezing rain before changing to rain as temperatures rise. The rain may be heavy at times overnight in some areas before tapering off by Monday morning. Snow and ice accumulations may make travel slow or hazardous. Rain and melting snow can result in pooling of water. Roads and walkways may become slippery and difficult to navigate. Consider adjusting travel plans to avoid the most adverse conditions. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
