A strong cold front has resulted in a rapid fall in temperatures through the day along with intermittent periods of heavy flurries. The strong winds in the wake of this cold front will continue through the evening.

Lake effect snow squalls off Lake Huron expected today.

What:
Near zero visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Local snowfall amounts of 5 to 15 cm.

When:
Continuing through this evening. Weakening tonight.

Additional information:
Winds are expected to shift from west to northwest through the day. As a result, snow squalls are not expected to remain over any given location for a long period of time. Reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow will be the primary hazard as opposed to snowfall accumulations.
