A long duration heat event is expected over the next 7 days.

Daytime high temperatures between 29 to 33 degrees Celsius are expected for communities in central and northern Alberta, and will expand to include portions of southern Alberta beginning Monday. 

Overnight low temperatures ranging between 9 to 13 degrees will offer some relief from the heat.  

Consider rescheduling outdoor activities to the morning or evening, when temperatures will be cooler.

Extreme heat can affect everyone's health. 

Watch for signs of heat exahustion in yourself and others. Signs may include headache, nausea, dizziness, thirst, dark urine and intense fatigue. 

Heat warnings may be expanded in the coming days as the event unfolds.
