Smoke from brush fires will cause a reduction in air quality over areas in their vicinity and downwind.

Locations: Avalon Peninsula North.

Short range wind forecast: southwesterly 30 km/h with gusts to 50 today, Winds becoming light northerly near midnight.

Remarks: Ongoing brush fires in the Adam's Cove and Holyrood areas are producing smoke plumes downwind. Reduced air quality can be expected along the path of the plumes. Winds today and tonight will be predominately from the southwest, which should move the majority of the smoke out to sea.

As smoke levels increase, health risks increase. Limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.
