Moderate to heavy snow expected this weekend.

Where: High elevation passes, particularly Kootenay Pass and Paulson Summit.

When: Beginning this evening to early Sunday morning.

What: A cold front moving through the interior of British Columbia will drop temperatures tonight. This is combined with moisture aloft and likely to result in snow over the high elevation highway passes.

Amount: Accumulations are expected to be 10-15 cm in this storm. Snowfall amounts are variable.

Hazards: Snow may rapidly accumulate on roads and visibilities may be greatly reduced, leading to difficult travel conditions.

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly, resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
