Yellow Warning - Winter Storm
Issued: 10:56 PM Dec. 17, 2025 – Environment and Climate Change Canada
Hazardous winter conditions continue.

Very low visibility in blowing snow continues east of Calgary and along Highway 1, in winds gusting from 70 to 120 km/h, stronger towards Saskatchewan. These conditions will end this evening.

From Highway 3 to the US Border, for locations such as Medicine Hat and Lethbridge, blowing snow may be less widespread, but periods of heavy snow may combine with strong winds to generate very low visibility locally.

Additionally, temperatures have recently dropped quickly below zero in that area. There, any remaining slush or pooling water is likely to freeze as temperatures drop rapidly this afternoon and evening.

###

Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Road closures are possible.
