Temperatures reaching 30 degrees Celsius combined with overnight lows near 16 degrees Celsius are expected for the next 2 days.

This is a heat warning. Temperatures are very high and there is a moderate
risk to public health.

Maximum temperatures near 30 degrees C.  

Where: Howe Sound, Whistler, Pemberton, East Vancouver Island and Inland Vancouver Island.  

When: Maximum temperatures are expected to reach or possibly exceed 30 degrees Celsius on Sunday and Monday, with overnight lows expected to remain above 16 degrees Celsius.  Maximum temperatures above 30 degrees could potentially continue into Tuesday followed by a cooling trend on Wednesday.

Heat affects everyone, but the risks are greater for: seniors, people who live alone, people with pre-existing health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease or respiratory disease, people with mental illness such as schizophrenia, depression, or anxiety, people with substance use disorders, people with limited mobility.

Check on family, friends and neighbours, who are at higher risk, particularly if they live alone, to make sure they have a cool space.
