A period of very cold wind chills is expected.

What:
Wind chill values of minus 25 to minus 30.
Brisk winds gusting up to 50 km/h.

When:
Continuing through this morning.

Additional information:
Wind chill values will moderate through this afternoon, although they are still expected to be near minus 20. Wind chill values of minus 25 to minus 30 may return tonight into Wednesday morning.

Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter.

Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.

Poor visibility in blowing snow is expected.

What:
Significantly reduced visibility in blowing snow.

When:
Early Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening.

Additional information:
Westerly winds gusting near 50 km/h will result in widespread blowing and drifting snow. The blowing and drifting snow will be most pronounced in open and wind exposed areas.

In addition, occasional snow squalls are possible Tuesday afternoon, with poor visibility remaining the predominant hazard.

Travel will likely be hazardous due to near-zero visibility. Road closures are possible.
