A period of snow, ice pellets and freezing rain is expected today and tonight. Timing: near noon today until Saturday morning Remarks: Precipitation will begin as snow near noon before transitioning to ice pellets and freezing rain this evening, then to rain over southern Cape Breton Island later tonight. Precipitation changes back to snow Saturday morning then ends. Accumulations of snow and ice may create slippery and hazardous travel or walking conditions.
