Severe Thunderstorm Watch

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and torrential rain. Potential hazards include: - Rainfall rates of 30 mm per hour or higher. - Wind gusts to 90 km/h or higher. - Up to dime-sized hail. Locations: western and northern New Brunswick. Time span: continuing into the late evening and after midnight. Remarks: Some of the thunderstorms that develop have a slight potential to produce a tornado mainly across Madawaska and western Restigouche counties. ### Utility outages are possible. Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain. Heat Warning

An extended period of hot and humid weather is expected. Time span: ending overnight. Maximum daytime temperatures: 30 to 31 degrees Celsius (Humidex near 40), except cooler along parts of the coast. Minimum overnight temperatures: 16 to 20 degrees Celsius, except cooler near the Fundy coast. Location: New Brunswick. Remarks: conditions are expected to improve on Friday. ### Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
