Yellow Warning - Severe Thunderstorm

At 6:34 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain. Locations in the path: Harrow, Leamington, Point Pelee National Park of Canada. Additional information: A brief funnel cloud or two are possible. ### Driving conditions will likely be difficult. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.

Squalls with wind gusts up to 40 knots, frequent lightning and poor to very poor visibility in thunderstorms heavy at times are expected or occurring in the area. A thunderstorm over southeast lower Michigan will affect the waters west of Point Pelee and Pelee Island this evening. ### Poor to very poor visibility may contribute to voyage delays and make marine navigation hazardous. A heat event continues. What: Daytime highs near 31 degrees Celsius. Overnight lows near 21 degrees Celsius. Humidex values between 38 and 41. When: Continuing into Thursday. Additional Information: The heat event may continue Friday into Saturday, although confidence is low at this stage.
