...FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING
THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING FOR LIGHTNING...

The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for lightning, which is in effect from Saturday
morning through Sunday evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...White Mountains, Tanana Valley, Chena River
Valley, Fortymile Country, and Eastern Delta Junction.

* TIMING...From Saturday morning through Sunday evening.

* THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE INDEX...Scattered.

* WINDS...Near thunderstorms, gusts could reach as high as 40
mph.

* HUMIDITY...As low as 30 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...Highs in the low 80s. Lows in the low 50s.

* IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are possible this
weekend due to a combination of thunderstorm activity,
temperatures reaching into the low 80s, relative humidities
near 30 percent, and gusty winds.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Fire Weather Watch means that weather conditions could lead to
the potential for a Red Flag event in the near future. This watch
will remain in effect until it is upgraded to a Red Flag Warning
or that it is determined that the Red Flag event will not
develop.

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this Fire Weather Watch.

...Hot Temperatures in the Interior This Weekend...

On Friday through Sunday, a majority of the Central and Eastern
Interior will see multiple days of highs near/above 80 degrees
Fahrenheit. Take caution while participating in outdoor
activities planned for the solstice/holiday weekend. Stay hydrated
and limit strenuous outdoor activities in the afternoon when
temperatures are highest.
