Severe Weather Warning for Damaging Wind

DAMAGING WINDS averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts around 100 km/h are likely about King Island and northwestern Tasmania this morning, extending to parts of northeastern Tasmania including the Furneaux Islands this afternoon. Winds are likely to ease but remain gusty for a period overnight into Saturday, before DAMAGING WINDS redevelop throughout the warning area including western Tasmania around sunrise. Winds are expected to gradually ease below warning thresholds overnight into Sunday morning. Locations which may be affected include Devonport, Strahan, Currie, Whitemark and Bridport.
Sheep Graziers Warning

Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and strong westerly winds are expected during Friday and Saturday. Areas likely to be affected include the King Island and Furneaux Islands forecast districts and parts of the North West Coast, Midlands, East Coast, Upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
