Severe Weather Warning for Damaging Wind
Issued: 7:32 AM Jun. 24, 2025 – Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology
Strong west to southwesterly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 90 km/h are possible about Kangaroo Island, the Mount Lofty Ranges and the coastal fringe south of Goolwa.
Damaging winds are most likely through to early Tuesday evening and again during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Damaging winds are then forecast to ease throughout the warning area by late Wednesday morning.
A separate Coastal Hazard Warning for ABNORMALLY HIGH TIDES is also current. Please refer to http://www.bom.gov.au/sa/warnings/
Locations which may be affected include Victor Harbor, Meningie, Jamestown, Burra, Robe and Millicent.
Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Adelaide Metropolitan, Yorke Peninsula, Riverland and North East Pastoral districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
91 km/h wind gust was recorded at Cape Jaffa at 7:50 am.
106 km/h wind gust was recorded at Neptune Island at 10:42 am.
96 km/h wind gust was recorded at Mount Crawford at 1:17 pm.
Sheep Graziers Warning

Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and westerly winds are expected during Tuesday and Wednesday. Areas likely to be affected include the Upper South East and Lower South East forecast districts and parts of the Mount Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North and Murraylands forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
