Locally strong winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS in excess of 90 km/h are possible over the eastern ranges above 1200 metres overnight into early Wednesday morning.
Damaging winds are expected to ease below warning thresholds during Wednesday morning.
Locations which may be affected include Mt Buller, Mt Baw Baw, Falls Creek and Mt Hotham.
A 107 km/h wind gust was recorded at Mt Hotham at 5:27pm.
