Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Heavy Rainfall

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Maryborough, Biloela, Monto, Woorabinda, Rainbow Beach and Baralaba. Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Central West, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED. 54mm was recorded at Lake Cooroibah in the 30 minutes to 6:41pm. 51mm was recorded at Mt Tabor (Carnarvon National Park) in the 1 hour to 3:06pm.

Maximum temperatures in the high twenties to low thirties with overnight minimum temperatures in high teens to low twenties.
Severe heatwave conditions have reached a peak and should ease over the next few days. Locations likely to be impacted include Brisbane Metropolitan Area, Beaudesert, Boonah, Caboolture, Gympie, Gold Coast, Gatton, Ipswich, Kingaroy and Maroochydore.
