Severe Weather Warning for Heavy Rainfall
Issued: 8:18 PM Sep. 5, 2025 – Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology
DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 100 kilometres per hour are likely and could cause DAMAGE TO HOMES AND PROPERTY. Winds are occurring about the southern coast and adjacent inland parts of South West district and will extend eastwards through South Coastal district during the morning and into the South East Coastal district by the middle of the day.
Winds will ease from the west overnight and into Sunday, and are expected to drop below warning thresholds early Sunday morning.
Localised HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is also possible, chiefly about the South West and western parts of the South Coastal districts early this morning. Three-hourly rainfall totals around 30 to 40 mm are possible. This risk is expected to ease during Saturday afternoon.
People in the southwest of WA experience a front as windy as this about 5 times per year.
Locations which may be affected include Albany, Esperance, Manjimup, Margaret River, Mount Barker and Bremer Bay.

Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, heavy showers and strong southwesterly winds are expected during Saturday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the South West and South Coastal forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
