Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Heavy Rainfall

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 5:30 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near the Blue Mountains south of Hazelbrook. These thunderstorms are moving towards the north. They are forecast to affect Glenbrook by 6:00 pm and Blaxland, Hazelbrook and the northwest parts of the Wollondilly Shire by 6:30 pm.
A 100 km/h wind gust was observed at High Range at 4:15 pm.

Extreme Heatwave Warning

        In northern districts expect maximum temperatures in the high thirties to low forties and overnight minimum temperatures in the mid teens to mid twenties. Heatwave conditions are expected to contract to the east over the coming week.  

About the south and ranges maximum temperatures in the mid twenties to high thirties. Overnight minimum temperatures generally in the mid teens to low twenties. Temperatures continue to decrease over the weekend, with severe heatwave conditions expected ease early next week.
