The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 5:35 pm, a severe thunderstorm likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding was detected near the area southwest of Gympie and the ranges between Gympie and Murgon. This thunderstorm is moving towards the northeast. It is forecast to affect Gympie, Pomona and the area southwest of Noosa Heads by 6:05 pm and Noosa Heads, Rainbow Beach and the area south of Noosa Heads by 6:35 pm.
