DAMAGING NORTHWESTERLY WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 100 km/h are likely over central and eastern parts of the state early this morning. For exposed elevated areas, DAMAGING WINDS averaging 70 to 80 km/h with peak gusts of around 120 km/h are possible.
Winds are expected to ease below warning thresholds during the morning, but damaging winds may redevelop again from late evening.
Locations which may be affected include New Norfolk, Hobart, Kingston, Bothwell, Geeveston, Dover, Strathgordon, Tarraleah, Rosebery, Lake St Clair and Huonville.
Kunanyi/Mount Wellington recorded a 145 km/h wind gust at 1:39 am Monday morning.
Hartz Mountains recorded a 106 km/h wind gust at 12:28 am Monday morning.
Hobart ( Ellerslie Road ) recorded a 102km/h wind gust at 2:19 am Monday morning.
