Severe Weather Warning for Damaging Wind

For parts of the HUNTER, MID NORTH COAST, NORTH WEST SLOPES AND PLAINS and NORTHERN and CENTRAL TABLELANDS: DAMAGING WINDS averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts of around 90 km/h are possible over elevated areas today, easing by late morning or early afternoon. For AREAS NORTH OF ABOUT COFFS HARBOUR: Strong southerly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 90 km/h are possible from early afternoon about the coastal fringe from Coffs Harbour to just south of Tweed Heads, as well as for elevated terrain of the Border Ranges and Dorrigo Plateau. Winds are forecast to ease below warning thresholds by late Sunday night. Flood Watches and various Flood Warnings are current for eastern catchments and a Coastal Hazard Warning is also current. Please refer to http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/warnings/ Locations which may be affected include Coffs Harbour, Murwillumbah, Byron Bay, Yamba, Evans Head, Ebor, Murrurundi, Ballina, Woolgoolga, Dorrigo, Mullumbimby and Brunswick Heads. Severe weather is no longer occurring in the South West Slopes and Snowy Mountains districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.

Sheep Graziers Warning

Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, rain and showers and southeasterly winds are expected during Sunday. Areas likely to be affected include the Hunter forecast district and parts of the Mid North Coast, Northern Tablelands and Central Tablelands forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
