The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 8:50 pm, VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS likely to produce large, possibly giant hailstones, damaging, locally destructive winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near Boonah and the area between Boonah and Beaudesert. These thunderstorms are moving towards the north to northeast. They are forecast to affect Jimboomba, Logan Village and Kilkivan by 9:20 pm and Beenleigh and Tamborine by 9:50 pm.
Other severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near Hope Island. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect Canungra, Mount Tamborine and South Stradbroke Island by 9:20 pm and Mudgeeraba, Nerang and Coomera by 9:50 pm.
