Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and southwesterly winds are expected during Saturday. Areas likely to be affected include the Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes, Riverina, Snowy Mountains and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts and parts of the Mid North Coast, Hunter, Northern Tablelands, Illawarra, South Coast, Central West Slopes & Plains and Lower Western forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
Severe Weather Warning for Damaging Wind

For ALPINE AREAS above 1900 metres: DAMAGING WESTERLY WINDS averaging 80 to 90 km/h with gusts of around 110 km/h are forecast this morning. DAMAGING WINDS will shift southwesterly through the morning. Winds are forecast to ease below warning thresholds during this afternoon.
For EASTERN AREAS (below 1900 metres): Strong west to northwesterly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 90 km/h are expected along parts of the central ranges, southern ranges and Illawarra, increasing to 100 km/h for elevated peaks. Winds are expected to shift southwesterly during this morning, with the risk of DAMAGING WIND GUSTS also extending to parts of the Hunter, Mid North Coast and Northern Tablelands. Winds are forecast to ease below warning thresholds from the south during this afternoon, with conditions easing in the north by this evening.
BLIZZARD conditions are forecast for parts of the Snowy Mountains district above 1200 metres.
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service recommends that back country travel be postponed until conditions improve.
Locations which may be affected include Wollongong, Goulburn, Nowra, Scone, Katoomba and Bowral.
102 km/h gust was recorded at Bellambi at 9:50 pm.
91 km/h gust was recorded at Cabramurra at 9:30 pm.
