Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures and westerly winds are expected during Thursday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes, Snowy Mountains and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

For parts of the SNOWY MOUNTAINS above 1500 metres and ALPINE AREAS: DAMAGING WESTERLY WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h are likely with wind gusts reaching up to 110 km/h. Winds may possibly increase to average 80 to 90 km/h for areas above 1900 metres.
For the remaining parts of the warning area, including parts of the GREAT DIVIDING RANGE, the ILLAWARRA, and the west and southwest of the SYDNEY METROPOLITAN area: West to southwesterly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS up to 100 km/h are likely this evening.
Winds are expected to ease throughout the warning area before sunrise on Thursday morning.
Locations which may be affected include west and southwest parts of Sydney, Wollongong, Nowra, Bowral, Katoomba, Cooma, Campbelltown, Braidwood, Bombala, Kiama, Lithgow, Nerriga, Thredbo Top Station and Mount Ginini.
