          Maximum temperatures in the high thirties to the low forties with overnight minimum temperatures in the low to high twenties.     

Severe heatwave conditions are building over northern and central parts of the NT, and are expected to persist over the weekend before contracting to norther districts next week as a milder southerly change extends northwards over the region.
