DAMAGING WINDS averaging about 65 to 80 km/h, with peak gusts of around 100 km/h are occurring about Alpine areas above 1400 m.
Winds are expected to ease by tonight.
BLIZZARD conditions are expected to continue over alpine areas above 1400 m today. The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service recommends that back country travel be postponed until conditions improve.
Locations which may be affected include Mount Ginini, Thredbo, Perisher Valley, Charlotte Pass, Cabramurra and Selwyn.
Winds gusting to 100 km/h were observed at Thredbo Top Station at 4:30am this morning.
Sustained winds around 80 km/h have been recorded at Thredbo Top Station since 2:30 pm Monday.

Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and westerly winds are expected during Tuesday. Areas likely to be affected include the Southern Tablelands and Snowy Mountains forecast districts and parts of the Central Tablelands, South West Slopes and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
