A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Nearshore waters from Port Washington WI to Winthrop Harbor IL... Lake Michigan from Port Washington WI to Wind Point WI 5 nm off shore to mid lake... At 958 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 9 nm west of South Milwaukee to Oak Creek to near Wind Pt., moving northeast at 25 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. &&
