* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of east Tennessee, including the following
county, Knox.

* WHEN...Until 915 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 604 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of
rain have fallen over the last hour.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Knoxville and Bearden.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest North Carolina, including the
following areas, Cherokee and Clay and east Tennessee, including
the following areas, Anderson, Bledsoe, Blount Smoky Mountains,
Bradley, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke Smoky Mountains, East Polk,
Grainger, Hamblen, Hamilton, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Knox,
Loudon, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Morgan, North Sevier, Northwest
Blount, Northwest Cocke, Northwest Greene, Northwest Monroe, Rhea,
Roane, Scott TN, Sequatchie, Sevier Smoky Mountains, Southeast
Greene, Southeast Monroe, Unicoi, Union, Washington TN and West
Polk.

* WHEN...Through this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and a few thunderstorms will continue in parts of the
area through the morning, some with very heavy rainfall.
Rainfall rates between 1 to 3 inches per hour can be expected
with some of these showers and storms, and areas that see
repeated or prolonged periods of heavy rain will be
especially at risk for flash flooding.
