...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM CHST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Seas 10 to 12 feet expected. * WHERE...Yap Coastal Waters. * WHEN...Until 5 PM ChST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Altimetry data shows combined seas of 10 to 12 feet just east of Yap. As a distant swell from Super Typhoon Sinlaku moves into Yap, seas could peak around 11 to 13 feet before slowly tapering off on Thursday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions. &&

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM CHST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Large breaking waves of 9 to 11 feet, increasing to 10 to 13 feet Wednesday. * WHERE...North facing reefs of Yap. * WHEN...Until 5 PM ChST Friday. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Large northeast swell from Super Typhoon Sinlaku will bring hazardous surf along north facing reefs through at least Friday afternoon. Surf looks to rise to 10 to 13 feet along north and east facing reefs around Wednesday, reaching hazardous criteria for east facing reefs as well. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. &&
