...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO AND FAR WEST TEXAS... ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 9 PM MDT WEDNESDAY FOR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO AND FAR WEST TEXAS... * AFFECTED AREA...This includes the Gila National Forest, Lincoln National Forest, and all sky islands and lowlands across Southwest and South Central New Mexico. In addition, this includes the Far West Texas counties of El Paso and Hudspeth. * TIMING...Tuesday and Wednesday between 11 AM and 9 PM. * WINDS...West 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...7-9 percent across the lowlands. 10-15 percent over area mountains. * EXPERIMENTAL RFTI...5 to 7 or Critical to Extreme. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. &&

In Texas, Rio Grande Valley of Eastern El Paso/Western Hudspeth Counties, Rio Grande Valley of Eastern Hudspeth County, and Western El Paso County. * WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 8 PM MDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to reduced visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Persons with respiratory problems should make preparations to stay indoors until the storm passes. Be ready for a sudden drop in visibility to near zero.
