...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 AM HST THIS MORNING FOR THE ISLAND OF OAHU IN HONOLULU COUNTY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County. * WHEN...Until 845 AM HST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 643 AM HST, radar indicated heavy showers and thunderstorms are moving east of Oahu, and rain rates have diminished to less than 1 inch per hour. Streams in Honolulu and Waimanalo remain elevated with runoff. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Honolulu, Manoa, Maunawili, Palolo, Waimanalo, Kaneohe, Kailua, Kalihi, Hawaii Kai, Moanalua, Ahuimanu, Kaneohe Marine Base, Kahaluu, Salt Lake, Makiki-Tantalus, Nuuanu, Waialae, Makiki, Waialae Iki and Moiliili. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. && This advisory may need to be extended beyond 845 AM HST if flooding; persists.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and the Big Island. * WHEN...Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A kona low, currently north of the islands, has drawn abundant moisture northward. Rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall are anticipated. The heaviest rain is expected to last through tonight. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued. &&
