For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 7 to 9 feet in the surf zone. * WHERE...The beaches of Volusia, Brevard, Indian River, Saint Lucie, and Martin counties. * WHEN...For the High Rip Current Risk, through late Tuesday night. For the High Surf Advisory, until 7 PM EST this evening. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... High surf will affect the beaches in the advisory area, producing localized beach erosion and dangerous swimming conditions. Swimmers should remain out of the water due to large breaking waves and dangerous surf conditions. Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags and signs. Entering the surf is strongly discouraged. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. &&

For the Small Craft Advisory, northeast winds 15 to 25 knots with gusts up to 30 knots and seas 6 to 9 feet expected. * WHERE...Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 0-20 nm. * WHEN...For the Gale Warning, until 7 AM EST this morning. For the Small Craft Advisory, from 7 AM this morning to 1 AM EST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
