...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PST WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow. Snow accumulations between 1 to 3 feet along and west of US-395. Accumulations of 3 to 5 feet in the highest elevations along the Sierra crest. Lesser amounts of 2 to 6 inches for the Chalfant Valley. Winds gusting up to 60 mph, with up to 70 mph for wind prone locations along US-395. Sierra ridge gusts over 100 mph. * WHERE...Mono County. * WHEN...Until 10 PM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible with periods of white out conditions. Very strong winds could cause damage to trees and power lines. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Conditions will rapidly deteriorate Monday evening with the highest snowfall rates anticipated Monday afternoon and night, the a second wave Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning.
