...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON SATURDAY TO 8 PM EDT SUNDAY... * WHAT...High temperatures around 90 Saturday, increasing to the lower and middle 90s Sunday. Low temperatures will only drop into the 70s Saturday night. Combination of heat and humidity will result in heat indices of 95 to 100 degrees, especially during the afternoon Sunday. * WHERE...Northern Lower Michigan. * WHEN...From noon Saturday to 8 PM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat related illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
