At 901 PM CDT/801 PM MDT/, Doppler radar was tracking strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 11 miles northwest of
Maljamar to 21 miles northeast of Loving to 16 miles west of Orla.
Movement was east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Carlsbad, Loving, Avalon, Maljamar, Malaga, Caprock, Carlsbad North,
Red Bluff Reservoir, Orla, Whites City, Carlsbad Caverns National
Park, Lea County Zip Franklin Memorial Airport, Loco Hills, Otis,
Cavern City Air Terminal, Living Desert State Park, Halfway, Lake
Avalon, and Red Bluff.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast New Mexico, including the following
areas, Central Lea, Eddy County Plains, Guadalupe Mountains of Eddy
County, Northern Lea and Southern Lea and Texas, including the
following areas, Andrews, Central Brewster, Chinati Mountains,
Chisos Basin, Crane, Davis Mountains, Davis Mountains Foothills,
Dawson, Eastern Culberson, Ector, Gaines, Guadalupe Mountains Above
7000 Feet, Guadalupe and Delaware Mountains, Loving, Lower Brewster
County, Marfa Plateau, Martin, Midland, Pecos, Presidio Valley,
Reeves County Plains, Upton, Van Horn and Highway 54 Corridor, Ward
and Winkler.

* WHEN...Through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water
crossings may be flooded.

- Widespread showers and thunderstorms containing heavy rainfall
will move across the area overnight into Wednesday morning.
