...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM EDT THIS EVENING... ...REPLACES FLOOD ADVISORY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...The following counties, in west central Ohio, Champaign, Clark and Greene. * WHEN...Until 630 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 206 PM EDT, emergency management reported flooding in the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible. - Law enforcement and emergency management report that flooding issues are ongoing across much of the county. Additional showers and thunderstorms this afternoon will exacerbate the ongoing flood issues. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Springfield, Urbana, Yellow Springs, Northridge, South Charleston, Harmony, Lisbon, Brighton, North Hampton, South Vienna, Tremont City, Catawba, Clifton, Buck Creek State Park, New Moorefield, Pitchin, Lawrenceville, Powhattan, Springfield Municipal Airport and Catawba Station. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...The following counties, in Indiana, Dearborn, Fayette, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Union and Wayne, the following counties, in Kentucky, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Owen, Pendleton and Robertson, and the following counties, in Ohio, Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Fairfield, Fayette, Greene, Hamilton, Highland, Hocking, Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Ross, Scioto and Warren. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Occasional showers and thunderstorms will continue into early evening. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible. - Local law enforcement reported that various roads across the county are still closed due to high water. Additional showers and thunderstorms are moving into the region this afternoon, exacerbating preexisting flooding. - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
